Holly is an emerging New Zealand artist currently based in the UK.
She began painting at an early age and attended several years of portrait painting workshops and untutored still life sessions.

Holly works mainly in oils and enjoys the depth of colour and texture that can be achieved using this medium. "My main inspirations for painting are light, colour and atmosphere. I aim to use these elements as a means of creating an integral connection with the subject. I prefer working in oils and enjoy the diversity of using strongly pigmented colours to help achieve contrast and vibrancy. Recently I have found landscapes and urban scenes to be the most inspiring subject matter
to paint. Passing moments whilst travelling or in day to day life directly influences what I produce. A particularly striking sky and landscape,
or an aesthetic snapshot of daily life is what often makes its way onto my canvas. Landscapes have continually changing aspects and I enjoy working with the fluid motion this engenders. The sky plays an important role in the landscapes I paint, its vastness and expressiveness is a constant source of inspiration.

As an artist I feel my style is ever evolving and expanding and I look forward to the endless possibilities this will allow."
