New Zealand fine art landscape photography

Peter got bitten by the photography bug at an early age. Back when we used to process films the old fashioned way & you only got to see the photos much later. He found the whole process quite magical & was hooked! Constantly seeking new inspiration, Peter conducts extensive research to uncover fresh subjects & locations that engage his audience. Much depends on being in the right place at right time, thinking on one’s feet & capturing the light at just the right moment. It’s a combination that demands a trained eye & a lot of dedication & patience!

Peter prints all his own work using a large format printer with archival pigment inks onto acid- free canvas or 100% cotton-rag fine art paper. These processes are state of the art & the materials used are the highest quality available. Print permanence ratings were published in 2007 by the Wilhelm Research Institute of California, rating the print permanence of the processes & materials he uses, to be greater than 250
years (indoors). His first book “Looking For The Light” was released in 2017 to wide acclaim & in the same year, he completed a series of large installations for Auckland International Airport, showcasing the NZ landscape on an extraordinary scale. Using the latest generation
of Phase One medium format equipment allows Peter to capture images with even greater precision & detail than previously possible.

In May 2020 Peter released a new series of works on metallic canvas, a medium which delivers crisp resolution with unique pearlescent qualities. We also carry an extensive range of his unframed prints on fine art paper.
