Joe Kemp: Tironui - A Glimpse into the Future

Exhibition 27 February - 31 March 2021. An exhibition of wall and standing wood sculptures by Māori wood carver Joe Kemp (Ngai Tahu, Ngapuhi, and Te Arawa - Ngati Makino). It was fitting that our final exhibition in Te Haukapua Devonport was one that acknowledged the wairua (spirit) that Duders Building, the location, and the Devonport community provided us. The opening included a Powhiri, music, food provided by the wonderful people of Platters next door and of course the extraordinary mahi toi of Joe Kemp tohunga whakairo.
