"This exhibition is based around the idea of art as that which cannot be defined, and I have sought to include art from our collection that does not limit itself through descriptiveness and categorization but rather exists outside of such constraints. The artists in this exhibition work across a variety of media, and from within their own practices they push boundaries of how we understand both art and the world. The works I have chosen to show in this exhibition are ones that have provoked intrigue within me, and that I find myself returning to, always wanting to investigate further.

Often definitions of what art is serve only to gatekeep what does and does not “count.” I invite you to view this exhibition as a contemplation of all the things that art can be, without needing to fit into a particular definition or category.  Every piece is open to interpretation, and I encourage you to engage with this experience of discovering meaning in these works and find freedom and curiosity in this process."
