"Tawharanui Regional Park is located on the eastern end of Tokatu Peninsula which extends into the Hauraki Gulf just north of Kawau Island.  
In my mind this has always been a place of incredible beauty where rolling land meets the sea, with stunning beaches in every direction.  Our family treasures this sacred piece of land which is simply idyllic. We frequently camp at Tawharanui Peninsula and we have enjoyed many wonderful day trips hiking the region, truely feeling at one with the natural beauty this landscape offers.

'Another Part of Me' is a culmination of my previous art works, bringing together my inspirations drawn from land, sea, sky and nature. The view whilst walking across the top of the Peninsula affords an amazing view of Kawau and Little Barrier Islands. Standing open and exposed are the Manuka trees, creating a line against the horizon.  They are strong, durable and resilient against the harsh elements that batter them.  Native Manuka plants offer multiple benefits to both the environment and humanity.  These Manuka trees are the original source for our precious Manuka honey, Manuka oil as well as being perfect for ecological restoration.

This body of work celebrates and embraces the Manuka Tree, all that it offers and how we need to respect what these dark brown trunks offer our planet along with their wind-swept tops that proudly silhouette our beautiful dawns, evenings and horizons.
