Ingrid is a professional artist originally from London now living in New Zealand since 2000. She completed a 1 year art foundation at Westminster University, London followed by an Illustration degree at De Montfort University, Leicester. Ingrid paints in a realistic and illustrative style and she pays particular attention to capturing the essence of her subject matter. Many of her works portray the elegance and femininity of the female form set in specifically staged enviroments and often with a degree of intrigue. Her current series hark back to the 1950's and 60's and the era of the pin up. There is a distinct playfullness about her subject matter and also an element of cheekiness. Each piece is painstakingly researched for resouce material until Ingrid is satisfied the stage is set to begin the composition. The titles add to the story that accompanies each work and the exquisite attention to detail complete a body of work that is sure to bring a smile to even the most cynical of viewers.
